“Zak” combines Emma’s love of playful imagery with her realistic portrait roots. The subject, her Fiancé Zak Fennie, is a constant focal point in her work. They met in 2015 when he was busking outside the local Whole Foods. Emma was teenager with no cash for a tip, so she sketched him instead. Their paths continued to cross, with Emma creating an album cover for him in 2018, and again in 2020, when they began dating.

Zak appears in many of Emma’s works, and continues to be a constant source of support and inspiration for her career.
